The four slender bronze daggers are Korean-style swords with each of their blade, hilt, and hilt ornaments manufactured separately between the third and first centuries B.C. Experts believe that the Bronze Age in the Korean Peninsula started with the arrival of a bipa-shaped bronze dagger in the 10th century BCE. The Korean bronze culture reached its zenith in the 3rd century BCE, during which the use of the Korean style narrow-bladed bronze dagger became widespread, and the heyday of the use of bronze artifacts continued to the early Iron Age. The main relics from the period are largely weapons such as daggers, spearheads and halberds and religious objects such as mirrors and bells. These bronze artifacts are believed to have been used for religious or burial objects, rather than for pracitical purposes.
